Thane City FC crowned Under 15 Champions of Maharashtra

Thane City FC’s Under 15 team crowned Champions of Maharashtra with a commanding 2-0 victory over Dervan FC in the last league game of the Maharashtra State Youth League (MSYL). Teams from across the state participated in this three-month long League across three phases. The league saw participation from Thane, Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Solapur, Kolhapur, Ahilyanagar (Ahmednagar) and other District from across Maharashtra. This triumph secures Thane City FC’s qualification directly for the National Round of the 2026 AIFF Under 16 Youth League.

TCFC topped the points table unbeaten, earning 38 points from 14 matches with 12 wins and 2 draws. They scored the most goals at 33 while conceding the least at 3, showcasing superior overall performance by all the units. Rahul Awuji led the scoring charts with eight goals, supported by Rudra Dalvi and Veer Yadav who netted 5 and 4 goals respectively. Their contributions proved decisive in maintaining TCFC’s offensive edge throughout the campaign. The team’s defense led by Rayaan Dholia and Rudra Mirjankar held their lines well, while the goalplayers Satyajeet Yadav and Atharva Gawde made sure the team was in safe hands, conceding only three goals throughout the 14 games. Abhiraj Shinde gave a solid defensive performance in crucial games, and was considered the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament by the coaching staff.

Coach Prathamesh Chavan praised the team’s consistency: “It’s hard to put into words what this means. It’s been a challenging ride, but our mentality never wavered. To see our mission come to life and finally hold the trophy… it’s a dream. I’m just so proud of the heart this team showed every step of the way.” His leadership guided the squad to this historic achievement. Assisting him during this journey were Adnan Sayed and Prashant Verma who also contributed heavily behind the scenes.

Thane Football Coaching

Parents, Players and Supporters came to cheer in large numbers for the final, creating an electric atmosphere and witnessed the young boys become the Champions of Maharashtra. Thane Football Association and Western India Football Association (WIFA) the governing bodies of Football in the Thane District and Maharashtra congratulated the team, as Thane City FC became the first team from the District to win the Maharashtra State Youth League (MSYL) title.
