Eight players from Thane City FC have been selected to represent Team India on an international football tour to Germany in partnership with Bundesliga. This marks a significant achievement for football coaching in Thane, as the club becomes the only team from Maharashtra to secure this opportunity.
Thane City FC has achieved a remarkable milestone by having eight young players chosen for the prestigious Team India squad traveling to Germany. From a total of 38 players selected nationwide, Thane City FC contributed eight players. The selected players will join teammates from across India to form Team India squads for this international tour. Players from Odisha, Jharkhand, Bengaluru, Punjab, Haryana, Manipur, Rajasthan, and Goa will complete the national teams. However, Thane City FC stands alone as Maharashtra’s only club to achieve this recognition. This 100% Scholarship program by Bundesliga offers young Indian footballers the chance to train with professional German academies and experience world-class coaching methods.
The international tour features separate programs for different age categories.
Under-13 Team India: Five players from Thane – Pratham Mane, Madhur Nat, Darsh Lohar, Bhaven Choudhary, and Rohit Singh – will travel to Stuttgart from November 6-11, 2025. They will train with elite German youth academies and learn advanced football techniques. Apart from training and training sessions by some of the best German coaches, the players will also get a chance to witness a Bundesliga game between VfB Stuttgart and Augsburg on the 9th of November.
Under-15 Team India: Three Thane players – Satyajeet Yadav, Darsh Shah, and Vignesh Nadar – will visit Darmstadt from October 30 to November 4, 2025. This group will experience professional training methods used by German football clubs. U15s will be training with the teams and coaching staff of the Darmstadt FC as well as watch their game on 2nd November against Arminia Bielefeld in the second division of Bundesliga.
